~ Get Rid Of The Logon Screen ~

Whether or not you're on a local area network, odds are you don't really need the little logon (login) screen asking for your username and password that comes up when starting Windows. To remove this prompt, follow the following directions: -

Windows XP - solution 1:
Select Run from the Start Menu, type control userpasswords2, and click Ok.
Turn off the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer option, and click Ok.

Windows XP - solution 2:
If you have one user account and no password configured, Windows XP will log you in automatically. Otherwise, you'll have to do the following:

Obtain and install the Windows XP version of TweakUI. Open TweakUI (it's in Start -> Programs -> Powertoys for Windows XP). Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon. Turn on the Log on automatically at system startup option, type your username and password, and click Ok.

~ How To Set Computer Date ~

Setting the date through the BIOS setup

Enter the BIOS setup. Additional information on how to do this can be found on document CH000192. In the main or system setup screen you should be able to see the date and time. Using your arrow keys navigate to the date and change the date. Once highlighted on the month, day, or year press your arrow keys or your page up / page down keys to change the date.These steps may vary for your BIOS, additional help, information, and simulations can be found on our BIOS help page. You can also change the date and time by following the steps for your Operating System below.

Setting the date through Microsoft Windows ME, 2000, and XP

Right click on the time in your systray. This is commonly in the bottom right hand of your screen. Click Adjust Date/Time. This will open the Date/Time Properties window. In this window you can adjust the time and date, time, and time zone. If you wish to change how the computer handles daylight savings click the Time Zone tab and check or uncheck the 'Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes' option. Once the proper date and/or time has been set click Apply and then Ok.

Membuang Fail Tanpa Ke Recycle Bin
Untuk membuang sesuatu fail tanpa dimasukkan ke dalam Recycle Bin dengan segera, anda perlu menekan kekunci SHIFT + DELETE.Dengan ini anda tidak perlu mengosongkan Recycle Bin.

Mempersegarkan Paparan
Anda boleh membuat pilihan sama ada menekan butang View/Fresh yang terletak pada taskbar atau memanfaatkanbutang kekunci F5 bagi mempersegar (refresh) pada paparan Explorer. Ini memudahkan anda sekiranya memeriksa kandungan beberapa keping disket secara berterusan.

Masalah Untuk Bermain Games
Sekiranya anda telah meng'install' sesuatu games tetapi tidak dapat bermain kerana sistem menyatakan tiada CD walaupun anda telah memasukkan CD tersebut, anda perlu copy fail dari direktori patch atau crack dari cd tersebut ke dalam folder games itu di hard-disk.

Hentikan Fungsi Autoplay
Untuk menghentikan fungsi autoplay ketika memasukkan CD, anda perlu menekan kekunci SHIFT ketika memasukkan cakera padat (CD) anda.

Melebarkan dan Mengecilkan Tingkap
Anda hanya perlu klik 2 kali pada 'title bar' untuk membesarkan atau mengecilkan saiz tetingkap anda misalnya internet explorer.

~ Papan Induk & Penyelesaiannya ~

Papan Induk memainkan peranan utama dalam menyalurkan kuasa elektrik dan data kepada komponen lain seperti pemproses dan pemacu keras. Jika peranti utama ini menghadapi masalah, seluruh sistem biasanya gagal beroperasi, contohnya PC gagal melaksanakan proses “boot”. Selalunya kerosakan serius pada papan induk sukar dibaik pulih. Namun, jika timbul masalah kecil anda masih boleh mengatasinya dengan syarat anda memiliki pengetahuan dan kemahiran mengesan punca masalah selain langkah untuk mengatasinya. Kemahiran menangani masalah yang melibatkan peranti PC termasuk papan induk memang wajar dikuasai. Sekurang-kurangnya anda dapat menangani masalah tersebut dengan inisiatif sendiri. Pada masa yang sama anda dapat mengelak daripada berbelanja lagi, contohnya membeli papan induk baru, sedangkan anda tidak perlu berbuat demikian. Jadi artikel ini akan menyentuh beberapa masalah biasa papan induk yang mungkin dihadapi pengguna. Kemudian disusuli dengan beberapa langkah-langkah penyelesaian yang boleh diambil.

Masalah 1

Kadangkala tetikus atau papan induk gagal berfungsi, biarpun ia dicabut, dipasang semula, dan digantikan dengan tetikus lain. Puncanya mungkin pada port PS/2. Port ini menghubungkan tetikus dan papan kekunci pada papan induk. Jika port ini dihubungkan kepada perantinya berulang kali atau kerap, ada kemungkinan port tersebut menjadi longgar. Satu cara mengatasinya, ialah memateri kembali port tersebut. Jika langkah ini anda lakukan sendiri, jaminan papan induk mungkin terbatal. Jadi serahkan tugas tersebut kepada pakar.

Masalah 2

Sesetengah masalah papan induk timbul selepas anda melakukan penggantian komponen tertentu. Biasanya kerosakan boleh berlaku apabila hujung pemutar skru atau peralatan lain yang anda gunakan terhempas dan terkena komponen papan induk. Ini tertakluk kepada tahap kerosakannya. Jika kerosakan itu serius, papan induk yang ‘cedera' mungkin perlu ditukar. Bagi meminimakan kerosakan seperti ini, sila gunakan pemutar skru yang lebih ringan dan tumpul, selain lebih berhati-hati ketika mengendalikan komponen dalaman PC.

Masalah 3

Semasa memasang papan induk baru atau mengubah tetapan pada papan induk lama, tanpa disedari berlaku kesilapan kecil. Ia biasa dan kesannya papan induk gagal berfungsi. Jika anda memasang pemproses baru, periksa sekali lagi untuk memastikan pemproses itu dipasang dengan betul. Pastikan juga kipas pemproses, kipas casis dan kabel kuasanya dipasang dengan betul selain kemas. Tidak mustahil jika anda terlupa untuk menghubungkan kabel bekalan kuasa pada papan induk. Jika perlu semak manual peranti yang dibekalkan.

~ Things That Slow Down Your PC ~

You don't have enough free RAM - you should have a minimum of 32 megabytes for Windows 95 and Windows 98, 64 MB for Windows Me, and 128 MB for Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Your hard disk is too slow - try optimizing it using Defrag. If you have some money burning a hole in your pocket, you might want to invest in a new, fast, huge hard disk.

You don't have enough free disk space for a swapfile - you should have a minimum of 3 megabytes of free disk space for each megabyte of system RAM.

You have 850 fonts installed. If you can survive without all those fonts, try removing 600-700 of them to see if that makes a difference.

Your network drivers (LAN, Dial-up Networking) take too long to load - try disabling them to see if it makes a difference.

Too many programs are being loaded at startup - check your Startup folder and eliminate any unneeded shortcuts.
